Colts vs. Patriots

This weekend we went to New England to take on the Patriots. Even though we did decent I am so disappointed. We lost to our Rivals! Although that was probably expected from everyone, I’m still upset. The Colts are now 0-12. The ending score of the game was Patriots 31 Colts 24. Where in the heck did Dan Orlovsky come from??? That guy threw 30 for 37 and had 353 yards, 2 touchdowns, and only 1 interception. He came out of nowhere and blew us all away! I hope he definitely starts next game. Pierre Garcon had 2 touchdowns with 150 receiving yards. Donald Brown had one rushing touchdown. It’s evident that we aren’t going to the playoffs this year. So we need to focus on next year and working as a team again. Go Colts!

Panthers vs. Colts

The Colts stayed home this weekend to take on the Panthers. Even though the Colts lost 27-19 we did better than last weekend. Now the Colts’ record is 0-11. Who would have thought that one player could cause all of this? At least we had two touchdowns this game. That is more than what we have had the past two games combined. Painter did better this game, finally. He went 15-29 and had 226 yards. He had one touchdown that was thrown to Reggie Wayne and Donald Brown had one rushing touchdown. One thing that we did do better was work on our penalties. We only gave up 15 yards from penalties while the Panthers gave up 92. Next weekend is the big weekend. We go up to New England to take on our rivals, the Patriots.

Colts History

The Colts franchise started in 1946. Many people probably don’t know about the history of the Colts. Since this is the bye week I am going to inform you to the best of my potential. The Indianapolis Colts used to be the Baltimore Colts (now the Baltimore Ravens). Back in the 70′s the Baltimore Colts were a really good team. They had won a superbowl and a couple of world championships. After a while of not doing so well they started to loose fans. The Baltimore Colts had demanded a new stadium to play in and the city officials didn’t buy it, especially since they weren’t doing very well. So the team started to look around at cities that were interested in an NFL franchise and the Indianapolis Colts were born in 1984. It’s kind of ironic isn’t it? The Baltimore Colts wanted a new stadium, they didn’t get it so they packed up over night and left. Would that have happened if Indianapolis wouldn’t have given them a new stadium? We will never know.

Jaguars vs. Colts

The Colts took on the Jaguars this weekend, and lost again. There record is now 0-10. It fascinates me how Curtis Painter still plays almost the entire game. He didn’t even break 100 passing yards, had no touchdowns and threw 2 interceptions. Seriously????!!!!!! The final score of the game was Jaguars 17 Colts 3. The only reason we got any points was because of Vinatieri’s field goal. We need a Running Back like Maurice Jones-Drew (Jaguars). He had more rushing yards than our quarterback had passing yards. I just wish that the defense and the offense would show up together. It seems like one game the offense shows up, then the next game the defense shows up but the offense is nowhere to be found. This week is the bye week. I hope that the coaches and team sit down together and watch film after film after film and find out what they are doing wrong and work on it.

Falcons vs. Colts

We did it again. The Colts record is now 0-9. I don’t know how you can be a professional quarterback and throw 13 for 37, have no touchdowns, and an interception, but Curtis Painter manages to do so. We finally gave up trying to throw the ball and overworked our rushers to try to get something going. The only reason we ever got put on the board is because our corner back Jeraud Powers picked off Matt Ryan’s pass and ran it back for a touchdown. Matt Ryan (Falcons) did extremely well this game. He threw 275 yards and had 3 touchdowns. What is kind of funny is the Matt Ryan had more yards than our offense put together. Oh well i guess. We better be scouting for some potential players next year, especially for a quarterback that can throw to our team and not the other. Its obvious that we won’t be making it to the playoffs this year, so we need to just focus on working as a team and focusing on next year. Next week we stay home to take on the Jacksonville Jaguars, cross your fingers.

Colts vs. Titans

This weekend the Colts traveled to Tennessee to take on the Titans. I have to admit that I was a little bit nervous coming into this game after last weeks performance. Even though the Colts lost again, they didn’t blow it like they did against the Saints. The ending score was Titans 27 Colts 10. That is a heck of a lot better than losing by 55 points. Painter did better than he did last game. Although he threw 2 interceptions and didn’t have any touch downs, he threw for 250 yards, as well as 79 rushing yards. Donald Brown had our only touchdown of the night with a 4 yard run and Vinatieri followed up with a field goal. Matt Hasselbeck (Titans) has still got his touch. He threw 23 for 33 and had 1 touchdown with no interceptions, we need something like that. Next week we stay home and take on the Atlanta Falcons. Its time for us to play a good game and get a win under the belt. Go Colts!

Colts vs. Saints

The Colts traveled to New Orleans this weekend to take on the Saints. Since last weekend against the Bengals was a decent game I had high hopes for this one. Last weekend our defense pulled together and hung in the game until the clock stopped. This weekend was a different story. I have never been so disappointed with an ending score. The final score was Saints 62 Colts 7. Something has got to give sooner or later. We need to do something about a quarterback and fast. At this rate we might as well keep losing so we can get the number one pick in the first round draft next year. I honestly don’t think that it is solely the player’s fault. Jim Caldwell needs to go, and I know that just about every Colts fan out there will agree with me. All that I can say is that we need to keep practicing and keep our head up. The season is halfway over, we can’t give up now. Get well soon Peyton, please.

Colts vs. Bengals

This week the Colts traveled to Cincinnati to take on the Bengals. The Colts came up short again. The ending score was Bengals 27-17. Now that the Colts are 0-6 I think it is time for something different to happen. Our defense has never been better! I realize that we don’t have Peyton, but he isn’t the whole team. Curtis Painter is doing a good job for someone who has started three Professional football games his entire life. Our offense is what killed us this game. Right off the bat Dallas Clark fumbled it which resulted in a touchdown. He did redeem himself later on in the game by making another one handed catch, this time he found his way into the end zone.  Donald Brown kept us alive in the first half from his rushing touchdown. Adam Vinatieri missed a field goal, and Pierre Garcon fumbled it in the last few minutes of the game. Garcon’s fumble was the reason that we lost. I am honestly at a loss for words. I don’t know why the Colts are doing so bad. The last thing that I am going to do, like most people, is abandon them and support the team that is doing the best. All that I can say is that we need to practice and practice more. Next week we travel to New Orleans to take on the Saints. Go Colts!

Chiefs vs. Colts

The colts were so close yet again. This week the Colts played the Kansas City Chiefs. The score at half time was Colts 24-14, and the end of the game it was 28-24 Chiefs. Now the Colts are 0-5. This was Curtis Painter’s 2nd start, and it was noticeable at times. He did have some nice throws and pump fakes, but when it came down to the last 5 minutes of the game he began to choke a little. We had a chance to win the game and he threw it to someone that was being tackled and wasn’t even to the first down marker. We can’t be too hard on him, considering this was his second start. Painter threw 277 yards and had 2 touchdowns. Both of those touchdowns went to Pierre Garcon, who also had 125 receiving yards. Painter has thrown four touchdowns this season, and all of them have gone to Garcon. I know that this blog is about the Colts, but I have to give props to Dwayne Bowe (receiver for the Chiefs) for his amazing touchdown catch. He bobbled it twice and made a diving catch for a touchdown. We just need to keep trying and not give up. We need to get ready for next week against the Cincinnati Bengals!

Colts vs. Buccaneers

When I learned that Gary Brackett and Melvin Bullitt were going to be out this game I only imagined a catastrophe for the defense. I was wrong. Out defensive stepped up, and as always, so did Dwight Freeney and Robert Mathis. Freeney and Mathis kept pressure on the Buccaneers’ quarterback Josh Freeman. The Colts did lose to the Buccaneers 24-17 and now have a 0-4 season, but they look like a team again. The colts actually had the lead until the end of the 3rd quarter. This was Curtis Painter’s first career start, and he did exceptionally well. Painter threw an 87 yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. Peyton’s longest touchdown pass is 86 yards. Painter also threw a 57 yard touchdown pass to Pierre Garcon. Garcon wouldn’t have made it into the end zone if it wasn’t for his receivers blocking for him. Reggie Wayne literally jumped sideways and took out two defensive players so Garcon could make it to the end zone. We do need to keep Eric Foster in our thoughts. He broke in ankle in a gruesome manner. Just hope that he heals okay and gets back quick, we can’t afford to have too many more injuries. I hope the Colts play this well against the Kansas City Chiefs next weekend!

Below is the footage of Eric Foster breaking his ankle.
